This is from the northern outskirts of Pontianak city on western Borneo.
In a workshop you can see the Equator monument dating back to colonial days, judging from the Dutch word Evenaar.
Both pictures, from 1976, were scanned from Kodachrome slides.
PS I have seen now on Google Earth that the monument has been modernized since 1976. |
