Zamora, la tierra del Románico y del Romancero, es una ciudad española, capital de la provincia de Zamora, que se encuentra al noroeste, cerca de la frontera con Portugal. Pertenece a la actual comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León, y es atravesada por el río Duero de este a oeste.

Es importante su numeroso y excelente arte románico. Destaca especialmente su espléndida Catedral, construida entre los años 1151 y 1174, con su característico cimborrio de influencia bizantina.Zamora es conocida como Ciudad del Románico ya que es la localidad con mayor número de iglesias románicas (25)de toda Europa.
La celebración de la Semana Santa en Zamora está declarada de Interés Turístico Internacional.

Esta imagen es de la plaza y jardines que se encuentran junto a la catedral. Las columnas del parque y el arco que se ve al fondo, pertenecieron al convento de de San Jerónimo, hoy en día es todo lo que queda de él.

Zamora, the land of Romanesque and Romancero, is a Spanish city, capital of the province of Zamora, located in the northwest, near the border with Portugal. It belongs to the current autonomous community of Castilla y Leon, and is crossed by the Douro River from east to west.

It is important to its large and excellent Romanesque art. Strongly underlines its splendid cathedral, built between the years 1151 and 1174, with its distinctive dome base of influence bizantina.Zamora is known as City of Romanesque as it is the locality with the highest number of Romanesque churches (25) across Europe.
The celebration of Easter in Zamora was declared International Tourist Interest.

This image is of the plaza and gardens that are next to the cathedral. The columns of the park and the arch which is in the background, belonged to the convent of San Jeronimo, today is all that remains of him.
