Along the shore hundreds of goal shoots dump down coal into many of these boats. This and a heavy industrial smog keeps the view hazed along this great river in China. Rare would be the day a clear image could be taken from this location found within the Three Gorges area of the river.
I have taken the voage both down and up river and each time I am always pleased. There are new things to see and old things to think about with each passing. The water level will soon be at its peak as the Three Gorges dam finally reaches its summit and the waters become stable once again. The passage through the dam is also an interesting experience as it takes 6-8 hours to go though the locks. |
