 Shades of green… (102) bakes888

Hi all. This view of the Ruahine Ranges was taken on my recent visit to the Ruahine forest park and was taken from the road into the park from the township of Mangaweka.
If you look closely you can see the frost is still on the ground in the shadows, a portent to the glorious late autumn day that followed.
I spent an hour or two hiking in the Park and have already posted a couple of shots.
Converted from Raw.
Enjoy, Paul.
PS Henk did a nice WS and I’ve had a few other comments about contrast and sharpness and so I’ve done a WS myself. Please let me know what you think. |

| I’ve redone this shot from Raw. Converted in Rawshooter to TIF. Opened in Paint Shop Pro. Separate layers for sky and fore/mid ground then combined with the eraser brush. Local contrast enhancement with USM set to; Radius 50, amount 15, threshold 0. Saturation boosted 15 points. Sharpened with High pass filter; radius 1, amount 60. Resized, signed and border added. Saved for TE. |

The original lacks a bit of contrast and colours. I gave it a large boost with a play with levels, contrast, saturation and strokes with brushes in combination with a deeper blue sky.
Hope you like it... |
