Here a scene from Gümüşlük at Bodrum. Between two islands there the water is very shallow; so you can walk from one island to the other one.

I put the two characters less in the center of the composition.
I keep the two islands and remove part of the water in foreground.
But it is another version, certainly different of what you wanted.
