The Gates of Ghent Lille was built from 1621 when the extension of the city. The structure of the door of Ghent has two different facades, entry and exit of the city.

The facade can be divided into three parts: the ground floor with three arches, the middle and upper.
Initially, there was only the central passage. Two additional arcades were dug in 1875 to improve traffic and allow the passage of the tramway that movement until 1963.
The middle part is formed by a brick wall decorated with runic symbols with the center, a decorative carved with the image of Lille topped by a triangular pediment and on the other hand, and the location of arms of the drawbridge. The ground-floor sandstone is formed by three arches coupled with archivolts open hanger.
The middle part is formed by a brick wall bicolore forming geometric patterns and breakthrough six windows to cross.
The upper part is formed by a slate roof with a skylight at the center and both sides two fireplaces.
