 Brittany colors [3] (112) JCG
(18020) | Some preferred this photograph which I published in WS with this one, then to give pleasure I put it in principal photograph today !!!
You will notice in bottom the Breton flag on the right : "Gwenn-ha-du" which means white and black.
it was drawn in 1923 by Morvan Marchal. It is composed of a field of hermines located in top on the left pointing out the old blazon of the dukes of Brittany and black and white bands:
- The four white bands represent Religious departments of Cornwall, Leon, Trégor and Vannes.
- The five black bands represent Religious departments of Nantes, Saint-Brieuc, Saint-Malo, Dol and Rennes.
Hermines were introduced in Brittany by the Capetienne House of Dreux.
In complementary photograph I introduce the owner of the flag to you…
Good weekend with all. |
