Further to this shot taken a few weeks ago, this is what these woods are really supposed to look like in April.

Sadly the bluebells are now gone and in their place are ferns and shade from all the leaves that have filled the trees above them, but it's still a beautiful place for a walk.

This is the kind of scene which comes to mind when I think of English woods and for ages I've been trying to get this kind of shot. Unfortunately the bluebells only grow in narrow strips along the edges of these woods unlike some woods in England which are apparently full of them all the way through.

Close your eyes and imagine the warmth of the sun creeping through the trees, the sound of the birds chirping around you and animals rustling in the dried leaves, the smell of the bluebells and you'll find yourself in another place away from the violence of the modern world.

Cora-

I couldn't bring back the highlights, but overall added some details where I could.

First, in a duplicate layer, I darkened the upper end of the curves about 25%. I erased the gray from around the frame (you can still see a little in your © notice).

Flattened those layers, and increased saturation by +14.

Then, in a separate layer, I darkened the middle of the curve 35%, and erased from the middle out to crate a vignette. The eraser was set at 550 pixels, and 35% hardness.

Once again I flattened and dodged and burned a little bit more to add isolated contrast changes. I probably should have sharpened it a bit too, but didn't.

Nice image, thanks for giving me a good one to play with. I hope you don't mind.
