This little shelter, which I assume to be a partial reconstruction of an early settlement, sits upon a canyon ledge on the walk down to the canyon floor beneath Sipapu Bridge.

I took this shot primarily to show of the wonderful wall, although the shelter probably gives the shot a little more focus.

We took the 5.6 mile loop trail along the canyon floor between Sipapu and Kachina bridges and back across the mesa. June, very hot day and the canyon was dry, although this area must carry extreme flash flood danger. We walked passed trees which had flood debris in the branches maybe 20 feet above the creek bed.

There's an additional shot here which shows something of the character of this canyon walk.
