![Gold Star Critiquer/Silver Workshop Editor/Gold Note Writer [C: 512 W: 16 N: 651]](http://i1.trekearth.com/misc/g-s-g.gif) (2064) | Kalat-e- Naderi (Nader 's Kalat) is located in the middle of a natural and elliptical fortress surrounded by "Hezar Masjed Mountains" and in 145km northeast of Mashhad city. Fortress, 36x12 km, has always been of massive military importance in history, due to its location.
City of Kalat was destroyed at the end of 14th century AD. after being occupied by Amir Taymoor . "Nader Shah" ( = king Nader ) made use of Kalat’s circumstances and since then it was called "Kalat Naderi". After Nader shah, till 1303 A.H. Kalat was the capital of a small local government which followed government of Iran.
Sun-palace was built in Afshariyeh period and when Nader Shah was still alive.This building, made of bricks and decorated with carved stones, has an octagonal plan and includes a ground floor and a basement. It is remarkable for its circular tower and carvings of fruits like bananas and pineapples and is located in a garden measuring 168 x 122 meters. It is said that Nader used this building both for dwelling and saving the treasures and the spoils.
