(584) | Another close portrait of the beautiful people of India.
This one is actually a portrait of a good friend of mine. But, it's not the girl. Read on...
When we visit the villages around our school, we do two things to attract people to us. First, the teachers invite our students who live in the village to join them in singing songs they have learned in school. Second, we blow bubbles. We take bubble potion with us on every trip and blow them on each visit to the villages.
Everyone one, kids and adults alike, are immediately attracted to the bubbles, and chase them all over the place. Even if its a village we've visited before, we do this.
This girl was enamored with the process and the bubbles that were flying everywhere. She however, did not get up and chase them. She sat there and enjoyed everyone else's chaotic chasing. This is what first attracted her to me.
As I was checking my day's shots that night in the hotel room. I noticed that it was indeed and portrait of my friend. You see, to check the focus of portraits, I look at the eyes at 100% in Capture One. It was then that I noticed the reflection of my friend who was blowing bubbles. If you look in her eye, there stands Dave.
I have cropped the shot tighter. It is part of a series of 12 Dalits faces that are a limited edition set. Maybe I'll post more later. Uncropped shot is in w/s.
I look forward to your comments.
