The Upper Gate (High Gate) in the Old Town was built in XIV century. Today it doesn't guard the entrance to the city anymore, but is one of Olsztyn's most recognizable buildings. The main street of the Old Town, beginning at the Gate, acts as the scene for all sorts of street musicians and performers, who try to attract people's attention and hear the money hit the floor.
