 A special hiking trail ... (34) Buin
(26597) | Yesterday we had a wonderful walk from Freudenberg up to the small village Hohenhain with a cosy little café. You can find it using the map view function at the left ... ;-)
As you can see in the workshop our hiking trail also is a part of the pilgrim's way from Marburg (where Elizabeth of Hungary, St. Elizabeth, is entombed) to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain, to the shrine of St. James. You can see a map of all the pilgrim's trails in Europe which end in Santiago de Compostela here. This pilgrimage began in the 11th/12th century. Our hiking trail is a part of the branch coming from Erfurt in eastern Germany, leading to Cologne and further on to Paris and southwest France.
Always again the fresh foliage of the beech trees in spring is beautiful ... |
