Once we had crossed this bridge we proceeded through the ricefields on the track seen at the top right of this photo and set up camp for the night another kilometer or so further on. Another group can be seen setting up camp under the bridge. That night it rained heavily and this creek turned into a swollen river. We all had to make an early departure next morning and because the next bridge had been washed away everyone, including the heavily laden porters, required assistance walking through the fast flowing water to the other side. I can recall one porter falling in. I am including a photo of this changed river as a workshop. |
