Weser Renaissance (30)

Here I show you a detail of a facade in the small town Höxter in the very east of North Rhine-Westphalia on the bank of Weser river. This architectural style is called Weser-Renaissance. It is widespread along Weser river, its headstreams and its tributaries. Special attributes of this style are elaborately decorated gables, special gazebos and the here shown hand-carved half-rosettes.
Beautiful examples of Weser-Renaissance are the city hall of Paderborn or this house in Detmold.
The here shown house was built in 1676. If you want to visit it in Höxter - it's the house "Westerbachstraße No. 4". You'll find a plethora of these beautiful facades in Höxter - it's a real dream ...

In the workshop you can see other details of houses in Höxter.
