April in Portugal means an explosion of flowers, even on follows or wastelands on the edge of the big city. This is near the urban area in Corroios, south of Lisbon.
The red flowers are poppies (see a close-up of a poppy with pollen in ws). The purple ones are a species of thistle, but I’m not sure of its real name (see a close-up of a thistle in the same ws).
The background is mostly a neighborhood called Miratejo. The extreme right low building is the Corroios Tide Mill.
