In many areas of Nepal, the houses often have no washing facilities and people must wash themselves and their cloths at public fountains or in the street. Here in Bhaktaput life has a timeless feel and things do seem to have changed in centuries. I found this woman washing her cloths in the street, near to a public pump. Her little girl is clinging to her as she works. Nepalese people don’t seem to mind being photographed as they go about their lives, but they often do not like to be photographed when they are washing themselves in public.Bhatapur is a Newari town in the North East of the Kathmandu Valley and if full of ancient temples and monuments.
