Alice on the beach (44)

Alice did not want to go home yet and made a last run to the water, while her mother was calling her back, that is how I know her name:-)

Yesterday I posted this in color and somehow it did not feel so right, so here a try in b/w. I should have done a repost I realize after Dan's remark, but was somehow distracted. I explained it to Kristaps who had made a comment..., thanks for your patience:-)

It's a simple view, nothing special happening, I just liked her mischevious smile, her name, I do find she would fit well in Wonderland and the late afternoon light...I am curious to see your opinion. My husband told me it looked just like a family snapshot:-) Sometimes I can't make up my mind if to post or not to post...

The color original is in the Workshop.

Cropped 2 cm on the left, desaturation, levels and increased contrast.

'Small but beautiful' is a catchphrase that certainly applies to the small beach resort of De Haan. Thanks to careful architectural planning, De Haan does not suffer from the same 'apartment-blocks'- disease that sometimes disfigures other Belgian coastal cities. A visit to De Haan is like a return to the 'Belle Epoque' of the turn of the century. The name DE HAAN means literally 'The Rooster'. According to a legend the place got this name because a rooster rescued a group of stranded fishermen. His crowing guided them to this safer place.
