Sunbeam on Castle Wendlinghausen (38)
Buin Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Note Writer [C: 3599 W: 0 N: 7336] (26597)
This is a view of castle Wendlinghausen, embedded in the beautiful landscape of Lippe, a region in the very north-east of the federal state North Rhine-Westphalia.

It was built by Hilmar von Münchhausen from 1613 to 1616 in the style of the so called Weserrenaissance. Weser is one of the big German rivers, and this architectural style shaped there for representation buildings from the beginning of the 16 th up to the middle of the 17th century. Characteristic are artistically decorated gables. Castle Wendlinghausen is a moated castle and the whole building rests on oak piles.
Today the castle - with great representation halls for festivities as e.g. weddings, or meetings - is the centre of an agricultural manor and also a cultural centre (concerts, vintage car meetings, art exhibitions, theater, magnificent feasts ...)

Please click here and in the link at "Film öffnen".

In the workshop you can see another view of the castle.
