The 22nd International Book and Press Fair opened today in Geneva. After having spent a few hours there, I was about to leave and was sitting on some steps to put away my camera and slip on my jacket.
Suddenly, a horde of people ran down the stairs and as I looked up to see those who had nearly trampled me, I noticed that they were all photographers. Intrigued, I grabbed my camera out of the bag and followed them. A few seconds later I understood why there was such a hassle as just a few meters away, Pascal Couchepin, the Swiss President appeared wearing a bright green tie. With him was Charles Beer, a Geneva State Counselor in charge of public education (he seems fascinated by the color of that tie, don't you think?).
I had only my 50mm lens and absolutely no time to make any adjustments... I just aimed, shot and here's the result. M. Couchepin was then surrounded by a compact crowd and was not able to get near him again.
This was my first experience in celebrity photography! ;o)
