Low Tide Repairs (86)

This post follows on from the
dhow building
image I posted previously. Our walk along the beach on the Sunday morning took us to the fishing village and
dhow building capital
of Zanzibar,
Ras Nungwi
on
Unguja Island
. The tide was going out fast, so no-one was going fishing. The shoreline was busy with fishermen maintaining their dhows and their fishing nets.

This one shows the fishermen working underneath the dhow. I think the mast is too tight on the left. In the background a fisherman is smoking the underneath of the dhow to kill the creatures which had attached themselves to the bottom.
