 Rain is coming... (10) Flavia
(8060) | After Bonaventure we stoped at the Historic Site of Banc-de-Peche-de-Paspediac- the largest dried-cod fish warehouse in Estern Canada. A place to discouver the 2 century story of fishing in Gaspesie. This historic site bears witness to the activities that are related to cod processing and fish trade, in the 18th and 19th centuries. The area was the hub of the fishing industry in St.Laurence Gulf. Each building in the facility had a purpose in a different stage of the fish processing, the site counts on 11 wood buildings and the largest wooden ship in North America, built in 1850. A very nice place, very well organized and well maintained, worth a visit when in the area. There are some trails around the area, but the rain, which was accompaning us, and the time didn't allow us to stay longer at the place.
On the WS the view to the main building which I worked out the colors and mood on PS. Let me know. |
