The compass rose drawn on the floor to the north of the Padrão dos Descobrimentos is 50 meters in diameter, it was an offer from South Africa in 1960. The central map full of galleons and mermaids, shows the routes of the discoverers in centuries XV and XVI.

Cropping; contrast
Edited by:tsvetanar Silver Star Critiquer/Gold Note Writer [C: 22 W: 3 N: 54] (207)

1. Cropped so that the outer ellipse is symmetrical. I know it's probably impossible to have the whole of it in one photo so I think it's better at least to be symmetrical. Unfortunately in this way the upper arrow is cut more than the lower one but I think it's better to sacrifice the arrows as they aren't so "visible" than the ellipse.
2. Contrast: I added a little more contrast in order to stress a little more on the beautiful composition colours.
I hope you like it! :)
