(14856) | Until the 60's, Montreal was the most important Canadian city.
However, the perception of political insecurity, associated with the Quebec separatist movement, culminates after the election of the Québécois Party in 1976. A large number of businesses subsequently moved their head offices to Toronto and about 300 000 English-speaking Quebecers followed in those decades.
With over 2.5 million residents, Toronto is today the fifth-most populous municipality in North America. It is a dynamic, cosmopolitan and international city, where half of the population were born outside of Canada. Because of the city's low crime rates, clean environment and generally high standard of living, it is consistently rated as one of the world's most livable cities.
I met one of TE top landscapers Luis Afonso there this weekend, with whom I had much pleasure and good laugh. You can see him at work in the WS. |

Super friendly, intelligent, curious, funny and talented Mr. Afonso.
He felt almost at home, with Toronto trams, great blue sky and a huge portuguese community. We shared several meals together, but the best was at a Portuguese family-restaurant; their spicy sausage and grilled fish are just great! |
