 Halong City Harbour (18) aloyho
(6061) | Halong City is also known as Hong Gai Town in the Quang Ninh Province and lies on Bai Tu Long Bay which is part of Halong Bay. The city is divided into two parts – East Halong (Hou Gay) and West Halong (Bai Chay)
Halong harbour is about a three and a half hours ride from Hanoi by bus. From here you hop into a cruise ship to go round the spectacular scenic Halong bay which is a world’s heritage site. Along the bay are scattered thousands of karst formations in the form of islands which make this place so picturesque and unique. It is no wonder why this harbour is so full of tourists from all over trying to board onto the waiting boats that practically filled every space along the water front.
I saw these fishing boats moored a fair distance away to avoid the overcrowding as they create a completely different mood from the bustling activities surrounding the pier. This could be how the harbour would look like before the advent of tourism to this area.
Here I allowed a very light background so that it will emphasize the subject and also to get that painting effect somewhat close to those in embroidery work. |
