Workshop Note
Hi Murray, in this workshop I wanted to darken things a bit and affect the colour, which seemed to have some strong cyan tones. To do this I first duplicated the layer and changed the blend mode to Multiply. This darkens things. I applied a layer mask and lightened up the barge and foreshore with a 50% opacity black brush as they were too dark. I then selected on the sky and added an overlay layer where I darkened with a 10% opacity black brush. I applied a Hue/Saturation layer to change the hue to a darker blue (I’m guessing at the tone here) and to lessen the saturation, but I increased the lightness a bit. With the tone change it got darker. I then selected on the sea and applied another hue/saturation layer increasing the hue very slightly and dropping the saturation. I didn’t change the lightness. Finally I went back to the first duplicated (multiply) layer and played a bit with the opacity, finally settling on 75%. I hope this meets with your approval. I have removed the copy from my terminal.

Regards, John
