....but do we have to?
Great Sand Dunes, National Park, Colorado, USA

as I recall..........

These dunes, which reach over 700 feet in height, have piled up against the base of the Sangre De Cristo mountains, at one end of a huge plain in southern Colorado.

On the approach to this place the dunes appear nothing more than a tiny light coloured speck in the vast, open vista. Needless to say, the closer you get, the bigger they become.

It was very windy.

If you have a care for such things, do not remove your camera equipment from any protective casing in such circumstances! We can still hear the sand in our zooms!
