 Nanny Falls (52) Gerrit
(26795) | In the heart of the John Crow mountains in the east part of the Island, Nanny Falls is only to be reached after a serious trek through the jungle and a dazzling descent along rocks since the last hurricane destroyed the 'easy' entrance. I had to pass on my camera on the way back before I could climb up again.
Nanny Flls is called after the chieftainess that ruled the maroons in the 18th century and who became a national hero.
Our guide was Andy, a guy with one leg twice as short as the other who had found a wonderful and smooth way to move through the jungle in a real fast way.
In the workshop you see a view on the fall at the other side and one of my friends swimming under it. |
