Sugimoto-dera (that is how we call it) is the oldest temple in Kamakura (since 734).
I had a lucky encounter of a group of people, appeared to be the participants of a pilgrimage tour.
They walked up stairs – a lot of stairs - to the top, where they entered the main building to give a prayer in front of the eleven-faced Kannon. |
