Workshop Note
This is how small the island looks like from a distance. As the boat was moving and vibrating, I had to try my luck on this perspective shot.

Firstly, if not due to Rabani's advice and guide, this island is relatively unknown even to local boatman. I could imagine they are not bringing any tourists interested to see such a small island of sea Bajau population.

I have seen Rabani's takes on Maiga island and it inspired my plan to visit this place, after a climb of Mt Kinabalu. I am glad it happened as planned, altough I did not have a chance on the sunrise (arrived in afternoon) or sunset (cloudy and had to return to mainland before dark) at Maiga island.

How to get there : drive to Semporna, a boat ride will take you to any islands. Many dive shops and hostels in Semporna catering for tourists. Diving heaven is found in Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai islands.

regards, bill
