I was just looking into Isabels photo from the inside of the Atheneum in Bucharest and was reminded that I had this outside variant from my visit to the same place last year.
We had a splendid day in Bucharest which included the passing of this fine building, the Atheneum:
Inaugurated on February 26, 1888, creation of the French architect Albert Galleron. The 8 ionic columns of the main entrance have similar proportions as Acropole 's Erechteion and the interior has four stairways made from Carara marble. Very beautiful and original. |
