 The bike (38) Merline
(5584) | Another of my scanned negatives from b/w film. Taken in the same area as my previous one, in a different season, here an early spring day last year, still rather cold and crisp, but with that blazing sun already hinting to the summer...
I have increased the contrast a bit, mainly in the upper part, to enhance that feeling of light.
Wimereux lies between Boulogne-sur-mer on the Côte d'Opale and the port of Calais, and the Channel Tunnel terminal and Boulogne-sur-mer on the Côte d’Opale. Nestling comfortably in a valley it offers those who know it, all the delights of good food and wine, an enviable beach, a mood I particulary enjoy, kind of a bit old-fashioned and this only 200 km from Brussels. The architecture mainly dates from the beginning of the XIXth century and is predominantly Victorian Anglo-Norman in style. With its promenade and beach huts it retains much of the flavour of this era.
I admired this very agile boy enjoying himself...just below, where I stood, is the beach. Would have liked to take some more of him, but the parents called him back:-), it is a bit dangerous even with the sand... |
