The view at dawn of the stunning Milford Sound with the reflection of the 1,692 metre Mitre Peak in the water.

Milford Sound is a fjord in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island and one of the countrys biggest tourist attractions.

Milford Sound has an average annual rainfall of over 6800 mm on 182 days a year, and this is a high level even for the West Coast of New Zealand. Milford Sound is known as the wettest place in New Zealand and one of the wettest in the world. Rainfall can reach 250 mm during a span of 24 hours.

As you can imagine, I was happy to get this view when I was there. If you do visit, remember to take insect repellent as the area is home to the sandfly and plenty of them.

I tried to make the sky not so washed-out by using the selective color tool to darken the white parts of the sky. Then I changed the color balance and saturated it a bit. I cropped it to eliminate the rocks on the left, which I found distracting, and to simplify the composition. I removed the smudge in the upper right corner of the sky. Added a white border.

I have just changed it to a black and white version and gave it a little more brightness.
