Self-derision is a Belgian speciality : I find myself far from flattered here, but the good thing is that now in my mid-50s, I feel much more at ease as a lone woman travelling in India : I didn't feel as free in my 20s or even 40s, was often harrassed and followed (but only in some areas...) "Eave teasing" is a too cute name for a disgusting habit (= groping or grabbing women in a crowd), I can tell you that it is terribly humiliating and I HAD TO protest aloud vehemently when this happened to me, thankfully well-meaning gentlemen + policemen often arrived fast on the spot - it generally ended up with a strong reprimand to the offender who hopefully would never recidive again.

Anyway, this is to tell you that nowadays, with my reading glasses on the tip of my nose and often this funny hat on my head when travelling, I feel more like a clown or an excentric elderly, the little IXUS in my hands doesn't intimidate anyone and that's how nobody can resist my demands to take photos !

That's my trick, dear fellow TE and TLers : just smile and be positive, don't take yourself too seriously, relax and joke and you'll get all the photos that you are looking for :))
