A terrific photograph, just a pity about the clarity. The following is a guide to how I corrected some of the problems:

1. Ran image through Neat Image to reduce noise/grain
2. Added some extra contrast (+5)
3. Highlighted (+5) using tone map function
4. Added 10% more saturation
5. sharpened
6. no resize required
