This is the top of the "Kickelhahn" hill, a hill that can be seen from the surrounding cities, including Ilmenau, where I shot the picture. On top of it there is a viewing tower, and beside it a small hut where Goethe once lived (unluckily I have no picture of this hut, but I visited it, --see this article in German). The tower, if I remember well, is not the one at the centre of the picture, but the one some 3 cm to its left.
I took the picture from the university campus, maybe some 5 km away of this place.
