It is over 40 degrees celcius in Massawa this particular day. At this time of year Massawa, the most important Eritrean port at the Red Sea, is a sleepy town. Most people leave for the highlands in order to avoid the heat. Specially the nomadic Rashaida people. In the harbour very few boats where seen, this boy was running to repair a boat, he runs to avoid the sun. The scenery is amazing regardless of which direction you decide to look at. The red sea has a beautyful light blue colour and on the opposite direction the coastal range ends quiet abruptly giving birth to the highlnads.

I used the highlights and shadows tool in Adobe to bring out a little of the character in the boat's hulk. This also lightened the ground. Raised the gamma in the level tools too to 1.08. I then dodged highlights and burned shadows with soft edged brushes at 5% around his feet. I also cloned out the little dark bit in the upper right.

Hope it didn't change it too much.
