I cropped to reduce the width of the frame, which seemed too heavy for the image and tended to pull attention away from the composition. Next I applied Shadows and Highlights, which results in increased contrast and better definition of both details and colors. Finally, I resized the image to bring it up to the maximum width of 800 pixels. Since I was working with a compressed file there may have been degradation in the resizing, but that would be negligible if working with an uncompressed or larger file initially.
