Workshop Note
I like the original very much and I think it is very nice just like it is, but I didn't resist making this WS. What I did:
1- Rotated 0.55 clockwise to put it straight.
2- Crop to eliminate the empty parts resulting from rotation. That was the only reason to remove the frame. Before I came to TE I was almost radically against any frames, but I have learned to accepting them and even findind them nice, like is the case on the original. One of thse days I think I'll begin putting frames n my own photos.
3- Auto levels, which resulted in too much contrast and brightness.
4- Lower that contrast and brightness by reducing the alteration on the curves done by auto levels.
5- Desaturated to b&w
6- Blended a duplicated layer in "divide mode" and opacity 12. This resulted in some excess brightness again, but that was intentional so I could...
7- Increase contrast by 20 to make it a bit less gray
