Following 'UnTrained's suggestion, I did this WS to show that if the shadows were a little brighter the image would 'die', turning into a badly exposed photo.
I haven't used any fancy technique, I just pulled up a bit the left side of the 'color curves' of the histogram, which is the easiest method I know to make selective adjustments on the brightness enphasing either on the darker or on the brighter areas.
I decided to use a photo taken just seconds after the original post because it has less contrast. That is, the original post is even more difficult to manage than this image of the WS.
