Workshop Note
Increasing the contrast provides a more realistic image. Decreasing the brightness offsets any excessive brightness produced by increasing the contrast. Were the jpeg reduction of better quality (or original photo of higher resolution?), the sky would show a smooth gradient, as opposed to the choppy low quality gradient it shows now. What do you think?
