Petrified acacia tree in Deadvlei, in the Namib-Naukluft National Park.

Deadvlei - the Valley of the Dead - was cut off from the main Sossusvlei valley by a wandering sand dune approximately 900 years ago. Cut off from regular water, it has become a burning salt pan. The petrified acacia trees are as old as the vlei itself.

Hey,
First, I added a white frame with CS2 because I don't like the contrast with TE's awesome background color...
Then I ran the shot in NeatImage: reduced the noise and sharpened a bit.

Hope it's what chrisj meant...

Best regards,
Louis
