 Empty Streets (10) linask
(2409) | View of Tunis main street Avenue Habib Bourguiba in the evening. The gate seen in the distance separates two completely different parts of the city - Ville Nouvelle (business and administrative district) and Medina (medieval old town with narrow streets).
At that time the main city street was completely empty. That's because during Ramadan period a Muslim is expected to refrain from eating during the day, so after sunset everyone gather inside for the first meal of the day and suddenly all streets become almost empty. |
