One visitor takes a quiet moment to offer a prayer to her God while everyone else hurries past in the tourist bustle of Notre Dame.

Brightness, Highlight, USM, Despeckle

Inspired by other workshops and this highly athmospheric image I also tried a workshop. In the background I select the people and their elements and changed the brightness, removing them. Also worked with clonestamp to remove so minor disturbing highlights. I did a little USM on the girl's face. And some more on the eyes. Changed a bit on the highlight of the candlelight. I decided to keep the floor there, cause I liked to have it in the image, in contrast to some other workshop editor, who removed the floor. I found that a bit too agressive, so I kept it. I've used the Despeckle filter over the white parts of floor.
Also kept the man behind her, by the way.
Hope you will see this workshop eventually, and maybe like it.

Regards.

Hi Phillip,

I had a go at taking the 'staring bloke' out of the shot and whilst it may not stand up to being printed it may give you some relief from him!

contrast and light

After our discussion, I decided to select the entire picture except the candles and the girls. I put less light (-45) and more contrast (+40)on the selection alone. The background desappeared as a result. Hope you like it.
