Using Picasa2 I've rotated slightly to get the horizon horizontal, and then changed the colourmap to sepia and added a bit of graininess to make it seem like an older photo.

Using Picasa2 I've just rotated slightly to get the horizon horizontal and then played around with the saturation to make the colours a bit more vibrant and lively. The saturation here is probably a bit extreme for the sharpness that was already in the photo, but it gives you an idea of what is possible.
