Ran the entire picture in autolevels at first and then did a difrent crop. I figured that, since the bird is cropped at the top, a "controlled" crop could improve the picture instead of the missing part being disturbing. After the croping a copied to a new layer and set the blend mode to multiply, opacity 25 %, to bring out some more details. Finnaly sharpened it with unsharp mask.
