(325) | Sunnet Odasi, Topkapi Saray, Istanbul.
Topkapi was the palace of the sultans of the Ottoman Empire. It is one of the great places to visit in Istanbul. Unfortunately is incredibly expensive for foreigners. You have to pay something around 50 euro to see everything. It might be worth it as there is a LOT to see, but still it's expensive as most turkish monuments.
In this picture is Sunnet Odasi, a building in the fourth court of the palace. It's covered by beautifully colored Iznik tiles.
The place was used in the past for circumcisions, according to the Routard guide.
note: This picture has had some light editing. I've cloned out a sign on the right side and softened a reflection in the middle. |
