 Sint Jan (18) Steft
(5958) | Today I went to 's Hertogenbosch (or Den Bosch), the capital of the province of Brabant.
's Hertogenbosch is the home of this beautiful Gothic cathedral, which is said to be one of the most beautiful cathedrals in The Netherlands. It was founded in 1220 in Romanesque church, the Gothic version is from 1525. Unfortunately it was two times damaged under a fire and it also has been under renovation for quite some time.
This photo was not easy to take. The light conditions were good, I only had to lighten the photo up a bit. But right in front of the cathedral, there are a lot of trees and a big parkingplace. That's why you don't see the bottom of the church.
I also had to play a bit with the perpective, because the photo was very crooked. (I hope I fixed that well.) The last two steps were resizing and sharpening (15-25%).
Lars also took a very good photo of this church last spring, under very different circumstances. |
