Workshop Note

I liked this picture and wanted to try this for a workshop. I started with the posted original (in a workshop). It was soon clear that the grass was the biggest challenge. Somehow the color and detail of it is lost in the picture or in the downsizing.

I carefully increased saturation of the whole image, and then worked on selective details in different areas. Grass, trees, and the mill was treated separately. Each area was given a combination of exposure and level treatment. There is also an increase in blue, which O believe helps both the sky and the grass.

The main problem I had was that to improve the detail in the sky and in the grass, the color if the trees was essentially lost so they had to be brought back from the original and made lighter to show them better.

I of course used layers to achieve quite a bit of the above. I'm no export with PS, but this picture was a good one for me to practice some of the techniques on.

I hope you like the result.
