Calling Back (6)

The Kolkata Crow (or, as we call it it in Bengali, 'Kaak' - because it keeps crowing 'Kaa' 'Kaa') is a very cunning and intelligent bird. It is a great mimic and can even be taught to talk. A evening approaches, these remarkable birds congregate on rooftops before retiring to their respective nests and sit as if in conference. They are wonderfully gregarious, excellent scavengers, and would steal food even from under your nose if you are not careful. They steal shiny objects and objects they mistake for food or building material for their nests. Once, they stole two mices I had kept on the sill of the window beside my computer.
They would fly away as soon as you raise your camera. If you are patient, you might get a few pictures that will show you how fascinating they are.
Unfortunately, at the last estmate, their numbers appeared to be dwindling.
This evening, I went to the roof of my sister's house in south Kolkata and took some photographs. This is one of them.
Come back, the bird seems to call out with great concern, to its companion flying away. They actually do that, you know.
I have just cropped the image a bit. Nothing else.

NOTE: I have cropped the disturbing corner out in the Workshop posting of the image.

Simply cropped out the disturbing bit of the treetop on the bottom right hand corner and saturated by10 percent.
At least two viewers suggested this. Actually I had missed the distracting corner when I first posted it.
